About Jirau

Jirau is a happy coincidence that started with the idea of sharing all of the handicraft work found out in Portugal with people around the world. Founded in Évora, an ancient medieval town, an UNESCO world heritage site. The Portugal's Alentejo is a traditional pottery region, the name 'Jirau' comes from an old pot hack with the same name, that is used in the north east of Brazil. It also reminds the name of the main square of the town, called "Giraldo".

Lucas is in charge of the marketing and product curation of Jirau. With a modern approach you can see his work on jirauhandcraft.com. "I'm excited to be a part of a movement that value local producers and story within every piece made."
